Dr. Allison Kihn is native of the Chicago suburbs. She received her undergraduate degree in Bio Engineering from the University of Illinois in 2009, and her DVM from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 2013. After veterinary school, she completed a rotating small animal medicine and surgery internship at the VCA Sacramento Veterinary Referral Center. Then she spent two years as an ER and exotic animal veterinarian in Chicago.
Dr. Kihn’s special interests include preventive care, emergency medicine, seizure management and non-traditional species. She has a strong passion for exotics. She spent 6 years volunteering with a wildlife clinic, was a zookeeper for barn yard and Australian animals, and volunteered at a big cat rescue. She is thrilled to be able to offer personalized care for all types of animals.
In her spare time, Dr. Kihn is an avid horseback rider, enjoys board games with friends and family, and watching movies. Her fur children include Ivy the border collie, Louis the French bulldog, Moet the thoroughbred, and Igby the ball python.
